DESCRIPTION

The Chinese name for this tea is literally "Big Tree White Tea", which in Yunnan refers to tea trees that are higher than a person and usually of certain age. This "Big" and Old Tree grows in one of the most ancient and highly regarded tea production areas in China: Lincang prefecture level city. The tea garden is specifically in the Laoying Mountain (Fengqing County) at an altitude of 2300 m. above sea level. Trees are between 3 and 5 meters tall and aged from 30 to 50 years old.

The tea is made from the native tea tree varietal: Mengku Dayezhong (Mengku's Big Leaf Varietal) which is a sub-type of Yunnan Dayezhong (Yunnan'sBig Leaf Varietal). Trees growing here are between 20 and 30 years old. It is a White Peony (BaiMuDan) grade white tea. Fresh leaves just undergo a micro-fermentation process, meaning that they do not go through rubbing nor "shaqing" or "green killing" processes.
